Hello all

Nick was given the all clear on Tuesday :-) he just needs time to recovery from all the treatment now.

Thank you to everyone who have been with us through this journey life can only get better and better from here on in.

Scan day arrived and it's a waiting game again....

Hello Folks,

Nick had his scan yesterday and now we are just waiting again to hear the results. He was tired after his scan and spent most of the day resting and is a bit achy today.

He will update the blog as soon as we know anything :)

MRI scan date

Hi folks,

For those of you still following this blog I have my MRI scan date through. It's on Tuesday 1st June and I find out the results on the 15th June... yes,, my Birthday. So here's hoping for a good birthday present ;)

Waiting for MRI scan

Hi folks,

Well - I had my clinic appointment yesterday (Tuesday 18th May). All my blood tests seemed fine - well, I presume so as they never mentioned anything about them ;)

However - having reviewed my current CT scan they now want me to have an in depth MRI scan.
I'm on some antibiotics to try and clear this cold up I can't seem to get rid of and then my scan will follow that.

Update time

Hello Folks,

It's update time and what a time we have been having it's been GREAT!

Nick is doing really well he still has very tired days but it's all down to managing the outings he wants to do on a particular week and spacing visits out so he gets to rest the following day.

Attached are a couple of photo's of a night out we had at our Uncle's Birthday Party needless to say we did not do much the following day even though Nick was only out for a few hours I think it was the two yes two pints that he had! hee hee ;)




The boys have loved every moment of having daddy home and the happiness in there little faces say it all to Nick and I.

Nick's hair is also starting to come/grow back in all the places it disappeared from as you can see from the photo (if you can click on it and enlarge it) his beard area is growing back dark but his head hair is looking Blonde!



Looking good honey, keep up with the nice steady recovery and we will have our little holiday with the boys soon. xxx

Words cannot describe how great it is to have my wonderful husband back home, this was him making his way downstairs a few days ago and just looking at this picture makes me remember why and how I fell in love with him all those years ago....those eyes (I can now say that now he is back to having two of them) LOL and that beautiful smile of his.

Hospital News Update....

Hello Folks

Sorry for keeping you all on tender hooks but we were late into the meeting as clinic was running late and then we went to have Nick's central line out :)

Provisionally things are looking very very good, there is a lot of soft tissue (mucus) showing on both sides due to nick having a cold so they cannot tell if anything is underlying that but from the initial report they think we are looking at a good result, Nick needs to go back to have another CT Scan within 8 wks and then we will know more plus they need to have an in depth review of the X-rays with the other consultants.

Busy day at the hospital

Hello all,

Nick has had a bad chest since leaving hospital but over the last three days it has got progressively worse so today we have been up at the hospital for many test and ex-rays.

Nick has been given some antibiotics to take for a chest infection and he is under close observation by me and strict instructions from the doctor and nurses to listen to me if I feel he is worsening.

We are back at the hospital tomorrow to see the consultant but we are not sure if all of the full in depth reports from his scans will be ready or not tomorrow.

Scan date

Hi All

A quick update...Nick's scan is n Thursday the 15th April early morning but we will not know anything until the following Tuesday late afternoon as that is when we see his consultant.

Must go to bed now will blog later as both boys are unsettled and I have just cleaned up one messy pile from Isaac....those darn teeth!

A Rollercoaster week

Hello All :)

It's been a tough week all getting used to living together again as a family after Nick has been away from the home for so long I know to some of you 4 months is not long but when you live with it day in and day out you get used to making your own decisions.... but we are getting there, you do not spend 19 years together and give up at the slightest bit of unease.

Love is always there in our family and we are trying to get our lives back on track and get back to some normality by having our Friday night curry and games night with Keith out very dear friend and also while the boys were at day nursery yesterday morning Nick wanted to visit his work and see all the staff, it was nice to see him sat talking to Nigel in the meeting room and throwing ideas around about the latest projects they are working on it brought a tear to my eye because 4 months ago we did not even know if this was going to be possible again.

For the hour and a half we were in the office it was nice but as soon as we returned home that was it for Nick he was shattered and spent the rest of the day in bed until early evening just recovering from that short outing.

The sun is due to shine today and although I have been up with the boys since 4.30 I am looking forward to another lovely day being a family :)
