Great to have Nick home :)

Hello Folks,

Words cannot describe how great it is to have my wonderful husband back home, this was him making his way downstairs a few days ago and just looking at this picture makes me remember why and how I fell in love with him all those years ago....those eyes (I can now say that now he is back to having two of them) LOL and that beautiful smile of his.

I just wanted to share a lovely photograph of a great guy with you all :)

Hospital News Update....

Hello Folks

Sorry for keeping you all on tender hooks but we were late into the meeting as clinic was running late and then we went to have Nick's central line out :)

Provisionally things are looking very very good, there is a lot of soft tissue (mucus) showing on both sides due to nick having a cold so they cannot tell if anything is underlying that but from the initial report they think we are looking at a good result, Nick needs to go back to have another CT Scan within 8 wks and then we will know more plus they need to have an in depth review of the X-rays with the other consultants.

Busy day at the hospital

Hello all,

Nick has had a bad chest since leaving hospital but over the last three days it has got progressively worse so today we have been up at the hospital for many test and ex-rays.

Nick has been given some antibiotics to take for a chest infection and he is under close observation by me and strict instructions from the doctor and nurses to listen to me if I feel he is worsening.

We are back at the hospital tomorrow to see the consultant but we are not sure if all of the full in depth reports from his scans will be ready or not tomorrow.

Scan date

Hi All

A quick update...Nick's scan is n Thursday the 15th April early morning but we will not know anything until the following Tuesday late afternoon as that is when we see his consultant.

Must go to bed now will blog later as both boys are unsettled and I have just cleaned up one messy pile from Isaac....those darn teeth!

A Rollercoaster week

Hello All :)

It's been a tough week all getting used to living together again as a family after Nick has been away from the home for so long I know to some of you 4 months is not long but when you live with it day in and day out you get used to making your own decisions.... but we are getting there, you do not spend 19 years together and give up at the slightest bit of unease.

Love is always there in our family and we are trying to get our lives back on track and get back to some normality by having our Friday night curry and games night with Keith out very dear friend and also while the boys were at day nursery yesterday morning Nick wanted to visit his work and see all the staff, it was nice to see him sat talking to Nigel in the meeting room and throwing ideas around about the latest projects they are working on it brought a tear to my eye because 4 months ago we did not even know if this was going to be possible again.

For the hour and a half we were in the office it was nice but as soon as we returned home that was it for Nick he was shattered and spent the rest of the day in bed until early evening just recovering from that short outing.

The sun is due to shine today and although I have been up with the boys since 4.30 I am looking forward to another lovely day being a family :)

A nice weekend all together

Hi All,

Myself, Nick and the boys have had a lovely weekend since Nick arrived home on Saturday :) cuddle time has returned to the Dent household...yippee.

On Easter Sunday we all went for lunch at Nick's mums which was lovely - thank you mum and today Uncle Alan and Auntie Grace have been to play... hide and seek was the chosen game today by Oscar only Isaac kept telling Auntie Grace where the hiding place was :-/



It was nice to see Nick today being able to enjoy the generous gift that he was given just before he went into hospital to start his treatment; a PS3 but the happy smiley face did not last to long before the tiredness hit in....he is doing amazingly and we even managed a small walk in the village this afternoon which resulted in more sleep but honey I am so proud of you for managing to do it.

I'm home... for good we hope.

Hi folks,

Well... this is it, I'm finally home! Hopefully for good.
Just got to go back Tuesday morning for some blood tests to make sure my platelet counts are OK and a check of my blood counts. If all OK then I'll be home again the same day. If not then I'll probably just be in overnight... which I'm sure I can handle after all this time.

So it's now just a case of relaxing and building my strength up and spending some well deserved quality time with my family!

Counts on the way up :-)

Hello Folks

Nick is doing great even though he has a very nasty bug in his gut that the hospital do not want in the vicinity of the hospital doors...so he is on 10 days worth of more antibiotics and is in isolation....ooops!

His counts are on there way up which is great news but at the moment he is still neutrophenic.

The boys are missing daddy like crazy on this last chemo session and are looking at photographs of daddy daily on the computer and blowing him kisses.

Hopefully it will not be too much longer before Nick is home and we can all have some more fun fun fun.

I must say a very big thank you to all the sitters that have watched the boys for me this week especially my mum; thank you for a lovely two days xxxx
